Writing a Romantic Love Letter
It would be pretty difficult to pinpoint the first romantic love letter ever written. Love letters or romantic notes are a wonderful way to demonstrate your love and tell your partner how much you love him or her.
Love letters come in all shapes and sizes:
- Hand-written letters that go on for pages
- Quick love notes that fit on a Post-It note
- E-mail messages that declare your feelings
- Valentine cards
- and everything else in between
When should you write a love letter?
Love letters are appropriate when you feel like writing one. Romantic letters are best written when your heart is filled with love and emotions.
If you need a reason to write such a letter, here are a few occasions to keep in mind: birthdays, holidays, valentine's day, mother's day, father's day, Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Are you in love with a friend? Writing a romantic love letter may just be your ticket from friendship to relationship.
Are you in a committed relationship? A romantic letter can bring your happiness to new heights by exploring new territories in the world of passion and romance.
Are you in a long distance relationship? Once again, romantic e-mail messages or hand-written letters will help you stay close emotionally, in ways phone conversations never will.
It's Time to Reveal Romantic Thoughts
Some people get nervous at the thought of expressing their feelings out loud. Romantic love letters are a simple way to address this common fear. You can draft as many versions of the letter as you want and rewrite your words until your feelings are accurately transferred to paper.
For other people, expressing feelings on paper is more difficult. Fortunately, many have gone before us and you can use their work to inspire you.
You don't have to be a writer to pull it off either! Simple words like 'I Love You' will always work but you can be more creative and write a long love letter. You can also use your high school experience and fold up your note into a neat little square (if you remember how!)
It's also acceptable to use humor in a love letter, but you have to know the recipient well enough to make sure that he or she will not misinterpret your letter.
Love Notes Evolve to Become Love Stories
A romantic love letter or even a simple note can really impact your partner's day, especially if you hide it in a lunch bag, a briefcase, the refrigerator, a laptop, or anywhere else where your partner can't see it until later on that day.
Have a great day, honey!
You can also leave a note on the bathroom mirror. Write your note on the steam from the shower or use lipstick or soap (but make sure to clean it up afterwards!)
Love is the most poweful emotion of all, so let it be your guide when writing love notes.
Romantic Poetry and Love Poems
Romantic poems such as sonnets have been around for centuries because they know how to please women (and men!)
Whether you create your own or revert to the classics from Shakespeare or other writers, you will get a reaction from your partner.
